The Cannida team walked us through the DOEE process step by step. We had clearance in two weeks, and they handled all the paperwork on our end.

What to know before you book.

How much does a typical lead assessment cost?

A single-family residential assessment starts varies and includes XRF testing on suspect surfaces, dust-wipe sampling on floors and sills, and a written report with hazard determination and recommended scope. Larger properties or commercial spaces are quoted based on scope.

A booking fee reserves your assessment slot. If you proceed with Cannida for the remediation work, it’s applied to your final invoice. If you decide not to proceed after the assessment, the fee is fully refundable.

Most assessments are scheduled within one business day. Emergency response (active DOEE notice, stop-work order, or post-incident testing) can typically be scheduled within 24–48 hours. Call (240) 555-0100 for urgent scheduling.

No. Federal EPA RRP rules require certification for anyone disturbing painted surfaces in a pre-1978 property. In DC, non-compliance fines start at $37,500 per day, and a non-certified contractor can void your homeowner’s insurance for any lead-related claim. We’re the certified specialists; we partner with GCs and painters on the larger jobs.
Yes — we’re experienced with HUD Lead Hazard Reduction grants, DC DOEE programs, and standard homeowner insurance claims. We provide capability statements and compliance documentation as part of every quote.
After remediation, an independent inspector performs dust-wipe sampling. If samples meet regulatory thresholds, you receive a clearance certificate satisfying DOEE, HUD, and rental-licensing requirements. If any sample fails, the area is re-cleaned and re-tested at no additional charge.
